When my eldest was just over 2 years old and I was heavily pregnant with my youngest, I found myself sitting on his bedroom floor every night until he fell asleep. It was numb bum territory, and even harder while pregnant! After my daughter arrived, he was still not sleeping well. Some nights, I slept on his floor before sneaking out to feed the baby. Only Mummy would do, and I was exhausted. When my husband went back to work, I had to figure out how to get both children to bed by myself while still having the energy to get through the days with a toddler and a baby.
Turning my own family's sleep situation around was a game-changer, and now I have the pleasure of supporting other families to do the same. I work with families and their children from birth to 6 years old, but toddlers and preschoolers hold a special place in my heart. Perhaps my background as a primary school teacher plays a part in this. I love co-creating routines with families that build in all those special moments for love and connection, really getting to know your little one's personality, and making the routine work for them. This is where the magic happens.
